Luxor temple

On our third day in Luxor we visited the Luxor Museum and then went on to see the Luxor temple. It was built by Amenophis 3 in about 1350 BC and added to by Ramses 2 and others. Its avenue of sphinxes is supposed originally to have joined up to the temple at Karnak. Near the first pylon is a tall obelisk (its pair is in Paris) and statues of Ramses 2. We came back again in the evening to see it all floodlit: the lights show up the carvings very well. Before catching thy night train to Cairo we had another meal at Marhaba.
