We reached Fano at the end of our first day's ride. It is a nice surprise - an old town with roman gateways and extensive cobbled pedestrian areas. We stayed at Hotel de la Ville near the gateway - no hotels inside the old town. Searched for restaurants (found 3) and peered in old churches. Good meal 'fish soup' but really an immense dish of fish, prawns, mussels, scampi in tomato sauce.
