Although we had only two more days of cycling ahead of us, we felt that it could be a waste of an opportunity to move on from Aix, so we had booked two nights and we enjoyed a relaxed day visiting museums and strolling in a the warm Provencal sunshine that we were somewhat unseasonally blessed with. The photos below should be viewed together with those we had taken in 2005, since we did not bother to take repeats. We were disappointed to learn that the major Cezanne centenary exhibition has been and gone in Aix since our last visit, but we managed to enter the famous hotel de ville building and view the amazingly-ornate council chamber and plenty of other interesting sights to fill our day.
