Teaching
in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Beida
Our host this
time was Prof. Li Xiaoming who is the head of department. He also
leads a large and active Research Group in Networks and Distributed
Systems, so our course was on a subject dear to his heart and
we got on very well with him.
We taught almost
the entire contents of 10 chapters from our book in two weeks, lecturing for 2.5 hours
every evening to 45 students on the three-year master's degree
in Computer Science at Beida. They were very well-educated and
enthusiastic students and we very much enjoyed teaching them.
The classrooms
in CS at Beida are equipped with data projectors and the building
has wireless internet connectivity, so we were able to teach using
our laptop computers for presentations and online demonstrations.
