Bar Bag Holder Notes

Pashley Moulton APB Owner

Dear Rider,

Herewith detailed notes for my design for a Bar Bag and water bottle cage holder for APB's.

A/ Fixings - The standard M8 bolts are unnecessarily strong so the unit is fixed to the frame with M6 Cap Head Screws in Stainless Steel. I use 75 lengths of nylon fuel line (6 dia. bore x 8 dia. od.) tubing to sleeve the M6 bolts in the 8 dia. fixing tubes on the frame of the bike.

The fixings for the Klickfix Bag Holder to the carrier are M4 x 30 Cap Head Screws in Stainless Steel. These fit exactly into the holes in the Klickfix unit.

Both attachments use stainless steel nylock nuts.

B/ Tips - The 6 dia. holes in the holder arms for attachment to the frame can be drilled ¼" dia. This will accommodate slight discrepancies when bending the holder.

I fitted plastic protector strips to the top edges of the holder when attached to the bike as this protects the brake & gear cables from excessive wear.

The material shown is as used on my unit. It should work well in 2 thick Aluminium but I have no experience of the latter's use.

I have used this unit for three years now with no problems whatsoever. It uses the admirable frame fixing points of the APB with an unmodified bar bag that can be used on any other bike. The two bottle carriers are an added bonus! ( Dimensions in millimetres )

Good luck with your own unit!
